Write Lens is a Chrome extension. We do not require an account and we do not sell personal data.

Data processed on your device

Settings, your personal dictionary, per-site disable list, weekly accept counts, and the monthly AI draft counter are stored in Chrome’s extension storage on your computer.

Text you type

Checking runs in the current page. If Cloud grammar check is on, the text in the active field is sent to LanguageTool at https://api.languagetool.org/v2/check. Turn the toggle off to keep text on your device. We do not receive a copy of that request.

AI drafts

If you use Generate, the prompt is sent to the Write Lens cloud at https://write-lens.vercel.app/v1/draft. The model API key stays on the server and is not stored in the extension.
